2020 Annual Meeting Cancellation

As the world comes together to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic, we in medicine have responded to this call with the great conviction, dedication and selflessness. I am ever so proud to be part of our profession that has led the charge in caring for our great nation. At this time many of us find ourselves rebuilding practices and re-establishing resident/student academic requirements. In addition we are still faced with the immediate unknown as to what to expect with travel, meeting restrictions and of course the concern of a new spike of COVID 19.

After careful deliberation of considering the safety and welfare of all those who we count as part of the EOA Family, we are sure that you’ll understand the extremely difficult decision that the EOA Board has made to cancel our 2020 Annual Meeting, October 28-31st in Naples, Florida.

With all of the hard work that’s been put into preparing a very special Meeting, we are beyond disappointed to make this announcement. But, there is no bigger priority than the health and safety of our hundreds of attendees, the countless members behind the scenes and each of their families. Though October is still distant, we must proactively err on the side of caution in these ever-evolving times.

We want to extend our greatest thanks to all who contributed to planning the Meeting, and ensure that all of that momentum will go into making our 2021 Meeting even better. For attendees who are already registered for 2020, your registration fees will be refunded. If you booked a hotel room, you are responsible for canceling your reservation. The Ritz-Carlton-Naples will honor EOA members the group hotel rate if you wish to stay during our scheduled meeting dates.

WE ARE PROUD AND EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE “EOA: THE NEXT 50 YEARS” will resume October 20-23, 2021 at the “OMNI Nashville Hotel”, NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE. We very much look forward to seeing everyone at this next Annual Meeting. This should be another milestone moment for EOA to build on own with each of you.

We encourage all those who submitted abstracts to re-submit abstracts with the new meeting dates. Abstract deadline for the 2022 meeting will be announced shortly.

We appreciate your support and understanding, and thank you for all you are doing to help our country through these unprecedented days. We cannot wait to reconnect with you all, once we are on the other side. Stay safe.
